Care of Sapphire Jewelry: Be sure to clean your sapphire jewelry regularly. If you ever find your sapphires looking dull, it is because they need to be cleaned. Over time, dirt and grime can build up underneath stones and settings and around prongs and this causes stones to loose their luster.  We recommend using a small soft-bristled brush and lukewarm water. Be sure to clean the underside of the stones as this is where most of the dirt and grime builds up. Since sapphires are tough and durable, they can withstand most cleaning methods. Sapphires can be steam cleaned or placed in an ultrasonic cleaner but MySapphireSource does not recommend these methods since they can cause the settings to loosen and stones to fall out.
