Care of Sapphires: Be sure to clean your orange sapphire jewelry regularly. Don't forget to clean the underside of the stones as this is where dirt and grime can build up. If you ever notice your orange sapphire engagement ring looking dull, it is likely because the stones need to be cleaned. With regular cleaning, your jewelry will look as good in 10 or 20 years as it does today. We recommend using a small soft-bristled brush and lukewarm water. Since sapphires are tough and durable, they can withstand most cleaning methods. Steaming or ultrasonic cleaners are possible but MySapphireSource does not recommend these methods since they can cause the settings to loosen and stones to fall out. Avoid using strong chemicals or boiling water to clean your sapphires.
